Arty Party's range of Photo Parties and workshops for kids and adults are available for all kinds of groups:

Schools
Teachers: Arty Party offers a range of programs designed to enrich your classroom experience. Suitable for children and youth in grades 3 to 12, programs are flexible to fit your schedule and meet various Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum links.

The Alchemy of Art Gr. 7-8
Half day
Explore the history and science of paint and it's properties, make your own paint and test it, then learn about pictographs and petroglyphs and create a cool rock art painting with special techniques to develop a narrative using positive and negative stenciling.
Shadow Play! Gr. 3-5
Half Day
Shadow puppetry is an enchanting art form. Students explore elements of drama and optics, play a tricky guessing game and make shadow puppet characters to act out a play in a real shadow puppet theatre!
Printmakers Studio Gr. 4-10
Half Day
Learn the basics of monoprint and monotype, or set about creating an advanced edition with various materials and techniques. Explore colour theory and gain an understanding of relief processes, while developing imagery that relates to current classroom study.
Pop Art Portraits Gr. 7-12
Full Day
Explore the Pop Art movement and artists like Warhol and Lichtenstein with engaging, age-appropriate activities that highlight current icons of popular culture, and question their impact on students' everyday lives. Pose for a portrait and paint it in a style inspired by Warhol; or for older students with access to a computer lab, a Photoshop tutorial teaches how to use the software to alter images and create final works reminiscent of Roy Lichtenstein's comic strip paintings.
Kooky Characters Cabaret Gr. 3-6
Full Day
Through fun with drama and mask making, this workshops takes it up a notch with a photography element that lets students explore their characters in two and three dimensions!
Lantern-Making Gr. 5-10
2 Full Days
Learn about the history of carnival and its roots in social protest through masquerade around the world. Work individually and collectively to fabricate beautiful geometric lanterns, then decorate them with images created to reflect the themes of identity and protest.
Mural Makers Gr. 3-12
Got an ugly wall at school? Create a mural! Using themes related to the school's history or your class' current unit of study, the Arty Party artist will assist from the planning stages right through to completion. Learning elements of design, colour theory and effective ways to express ideas, students will have fun and make a lasting contribution for future generations to enjoy!
